I understand that feeling of feeling like you will never be able to speak a language. I personally struggled with using Spanish for a long time. I didn’t become confident in my ability to use Spanish until my Junior year of high school, after 4 years of study, when I had a class where the teacher finally put emphasis on SPEAKING, not just studying grammar. This for me was a breakthrough, and led me to develop a method around speaking and listening first, which has helped me learn a half a dozen languages. And after taking the method I had developed and testing them while in Romania and Morocco, I saw my method work and how quickly one can learn to have basic exchanges in a foreign language (Romanian and Darija in this case).

We believe you shouldn’t have to rely on interpreter services in order to understand why your patient is there or what symptoms they have. That’s why we teach the basics of Spanish in a fun and conversationally focused way, with speaking practice in every class, in order for you to learn to confidently SPEAK Spanish.
Here’s how it works: We learn grammar in a natural way, cover situations that pop up in visit, like understanding their symptoms or giving discharge directions, and practice speaking, creating and thinking in Spanish every class in order to help you gain confidence in your Spanish speaking skills.

I don’t have the time

16 hours of class over 8 weeks to attend class. 16 hours of homework over 8 weeks to practice and reinforce concepts. For less than a 40 hour work week over 2 months, you can learn to confidently speak Spanish. Let’s say you work 8 hours and sleep 8 hours. During the week, that leaves you 40 hours of free time. Dedicate 1/10 of that to learning Spanish each week, and see how quickly you can learn to navigate daily life.

What happens if my schedule changes?

If your schedule changes from month to month, for nurses I offer the chance to pause their classes completely FREE of charge. I.e., let's say you finish month 1, but wouldn't be able to make classes in month 2. We can pause your lessons and have you join a later class at no charge.​

Course Breakdown
Class is divided into 4 units, Survival Basics, Basic Conversations, Giving Excuses & Commands, and Intro to the Past Tense. Each unit lasts 2 weeks, with 2 classes each week. Below you can see more in depth what we will cover in each unit.

​Survival Basics - Learn the basics of Spanish, basic phrases, and how to deal with the most important situations when you arrive. These situations include going to a restaurant and ordering, shopping in a market or a store, and understanding basic directions.

​Basic Conversations - In this unit, we learn to talk about family, jobs, likes, dislikes, and future plans. We will start being able to have simple conversations about ourselves and things related to us, as well as ask those questions of another person.

​Giving Excuses & Commands - This is where we get out of factual statements and start to add flavor to what we are saying. These are the woulds, shoulds, coulds and ought to's. We will start to be able to give excuses as to why we don't do something, as well as start to give simple commands.​

Understanding the Past Tense - This is pretty easy to understand. We start to talk about the past tense and go over basic storytelling in the present and in the past tenses.

I don’t speak any Spanish. Is this class for me?
-
While any Spanish you know is of course a benefit, this course is meant for beginners. If you are starting from absolute zero, the first couple weeks may feel pretty intense, but students start to feel comfortable around lesson 5 or 6. So hold on through those first couple weeks and you will be fine.

How long is the course?

Course is 8 weeks long and we meet twice per week.

I want to join but I can’t make the class time this month. What can I do?

​Don’t worry, there will be future classes with a more convenient time. If you can’t make the above class, there are two other classes that will open once the 6pm class is filled. Opening two will be Tuesday / Thursday @ 4:30pm Denver / Mexico City, and opening three will be Monday / Wednesday @ 3pm Denver / Mexico City

How much is the course?

The course in small group is $397 USD for 16 hour long classes, presentations, recorded videos, learning resources, and access to the teacher for questions. If you want a private teaching of the course, adapted to your unique situation, is $997 for the 2 month course. And if you want to pay for your full progression of the class (survival to advanced), the cost is $997.
